Everything you need to know before ordering your cake, including booking details, deposits, collection information, and how to look after your cake.
I’ve put together some of the most common questions I get asked when people are thinking about ordering a cake from me. It covers how the booking process works, what’s needed to secure a date, and details around collection, storage, and dietary information.
If you’re unsure about anything at all, just pop me a message and I’ll be happy to help.
The best way to order is to fill out the enquiry form or email me at zoeslittlecakehouse@gmail.com. I usually reply within 48 hours. Please include your date, number of servings, and any ideas you have for the design.
I usually recommend 6-8 weeks’ notice where possible. That said, I do sometimes have availability for shorter notice, so it’s always worth getting in touch to check.
At the moment I don’t cater for allergies or food intolerances, as my kitchen isn’t allergen-free and I can’t guarantee against cross-contamination.
I currently offer a collection-only service from my home studio in Menston, near Ilkley. Collections are arranged by appointment so everything is ready for you.
Once you’ve collected your cake, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. I don’t recommend refrigerating fondant cakes. Any leftovers can be frozen and enjoyed within 3 months.
To secure your booking, I take a deposit by bank transfer. The remaining balance can be paid by bank transfer or cash on collection. I don’t accept cheques, and full payment is required before the cake is released.
If you need to make changes, just let me know as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to help depending on timing. Cancellations aren’t refundable once the deposit has been paid, as your date is reserved just for you.
