Please read these Terms and Conditions fully before placing an order.
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker can only be reproduced as my interpretation and not an exact copy.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required in order to secure your cake order. Only after the deposit has been made will your order be secured within the diary.
If the deposit has not been made 7 days after ordering, I reserve the right to cancel any arrangements made.
Deposits must be made by bank transfer.
By paying your deposit you have accepted and understood the terms and conditions laid out by Zoes Little Cake House.
Please note if a cake is ordered very last minute it may be asked that the full price of the cake is made instead of a deposit.
All cakes are priced according to your desired design and size. Any other additions that are added at a later date will be charged accordingly.
Payment should be made by bank transfer to Zoe O’Donnell with your name as a reference. I will send out my bank details on confirmation of design acceptance. An acknowledgement will be sent upon the receipt of payment.
Final payment for your celebration cake can be made on the day of collection (Same day bank transfer or cash).
Cheques cannot be used as a payment method for the final payment.
A signature will be required on collection.
If cancellation of an order takes place I reserve the right to retain your non-refundable deposit. Cancellation must be made by letter, email or Facebook messenger to Zoe’s Little Cake House. Cancellation will take place from the date the message is received and acknowledged.
If the date of the event changes I will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable to my current schedule, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation. (please see the cancellation section)
I retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full.
DESIGN / ALTERATION & CHANGES
It is your responsibility to read & check the quote thoroughly. It is important that you let me know of any changes that need to be made immediately in writing.
Changes to design or size may be possible if there is enough notice given. Please note that this is not always possible. If the changes affect the overall cost the price will be adjusted accordingly.
If the design of the cake needs to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances including weather I will notify you and discuss the changes with you to make sure you are happy with the end result.
Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, a small amount of variation may occur from the design requested / picture supplied.
All of my cakes are covered in a layer of chocolate ganache (chocolate and cream) to ensure a sturdy base for all design work. The type of chocolate depends on the flavour of the cake being made.
ALLERGIES & SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
I do not cater to special dietary requirements at this time. Please be aware that my kitchen is primarily used for cakes that contain gluten, wheat, milk and nuts.
Any non-edible items should be removed from the cake prior to consumption. These can include cocktail sticks, toppers, dowels and florist wire. It will be noted on your receipt if there is anything to remove. If the cake is being cut by someone other than yourselves, please pass this information along.
Cakes ordered from Zoe’s Little Cake House are currently on a pick-up only basis. You will be contacted a few days prior to collection to arrange a suitable time.
It is important to adhere to the time arranged. In the event that you will be late please let me know immediately. I will endeavour to contact you in the event of late arrival. I cannot guarantee that I will still be on the premises after this time which may result in the collection on that particular day being postponed.
It is recommended that cakes are placed on a flat surface in a cool environment. Please do not place the cake next to anything that may topple over. Placing the cake on somebody’s lap is not recommended.
I will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left the premises.
Any damage to the cake during transport may be fixed if immediate contact is sought and brought back to the premises promptly.
STORAGE & CONSUMPTION
All cakes will be ready and waiting inside a cake box presented on a sturdy cake board. Where it is not possible to put the box lid on, clingfilm will be used to protect the cake.
Please store the cake in a cool dry place. Do not place fondant covered cakes in the fridge as this will result in a dry cake, condensation forming and melting may occur.
It is recommended that the cake be consumed within 48 hours to guarantee freshness. My homemade cakes do not have the same shelf life as those sourced from any local supermarkets.
My cakes may be frozen but please note that this will affect the cake’s appearance after defrosting has taken place. Food hygiene protocol recommends that food should only be frozen for a maximum of 3 months
My portion guides are intended as a guide only.
A signature will be required on the collection of the cake to acknowledge that you are happy with it. If you have any concerns about your cake, please notify me upon collection of the cake so that I have the opportunity to rectify it in time for your event. All other concerns should be made in writing, and evidence of the fault should be included. No refunds are given due to a change of mind.
Refunds will be given at the discretion of Zoe’s Little Cake House.
